1. Summary

NCam (package ph.henry.ncam) is an offline camera app for field work and inspections. It burns a watermark — timestamp, GPS coordinates, speed, heading, a selected site address, and an optional QR code — into photos and videos you take with it. The app does not request the INTERNET permission, does not create an account for you, and does not include any analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK.

2. Data we don't collect

Because the app cannot access the internet, it cannot do any of the following, ever:

  • Send your photos, videos, or location to a server.
  • Track your usage, behavior, or advertising identifiers.
  • Sync data to a cloud account.
  • Share data with advertising or analytics networks.
  • Collect your location in the background. Location is only read while the camera screen is open.

3. Data stored on your device

The following data is created and stays only in your device's local storage, inside storage areas the app controls or that you explicitly save to:

  • Photos and videos you capture, saved via the Android MediaStore, including the watermark burned into them and, optionally, a clean unwatermarked copy.
  • Saved places you add — names, addresses, and coordinates — used to auto-select the nearest site and label your watermark.
  • Settings such as watermark fields, styling, and date/time format.
  • Image metadata (EXIF) such as GPS coordinates and timestamp, written to files you save, the same way most camera apps do.

None of this data is ever transmitted off the device by the app. If you back up your device (for example, with Android's built-in backup) or move files yourself (for example, by connecting your phone to a computer, sharing a photo, or uploading it to another app), that data moves under your control, not the app's.

4. Permissions and why they're used

  • Camera — required to take photos and record video.
  • Microphone — required to record audio with video.
  • Location (precise and approximate) — used to read GPS coordinates, accuracy, speed, and altitude for the watermark and to find the nearest saved place. Read directly from the device's location provider, only while the camera screen is visible. Never used for advertising or analytics, and never requested in the background.

No storage permission is requested: photos and videos are saved through Android's scoped storage (MediaStore) APIs.

5. Third parties

NCam does not integrate any third-party SDK that collects data — no Google Play Services location, no Firebase, no ad networks, no analytics. Open-source libraries used for on-device functionality (such as QR code generation) run entirely locally and do not communicate with any server.

6. Crash and diagnostic data

The app does not bundle any crash-reporting library. If it is distributed through Google Play, basic crash and performance statistics may be collected by Google Play's own Android vitals feature, governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one. This requires no code from the app and is the same mechanism available to every app on Google Play.

7. Children's privacy

NCam is a professional field-work tool and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal data from anyone at all.

8. Your control over your data

Because all data lives locally, you control it directly: delete photos or videos from your gallery, remove saved places from within the app, or clear the app's storage from Android's app settings to erase everything at once. Uninstalling the app removes its settings and saved places along with it.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes — such as introducing any new data collection — would also be reflected in the app's Google Play Data Safety section.
